A Higher Level: A New MCT Reviews His MovNat Cert Experience
Posted | 0 commentsIn August of 2009, I attended a 5-day MovNat retreat with my best friend, Adam, that was instructed by Erwan Le Corre. There wasn’t much that I particularly knew about Erwan or MovNat before attending, other than what I had seen through online videos and an article in Men’s Health Magazine. I found out that there was a lot more to Erwan and MovNat than what any video or article could convey.
Over the past 3 years, our excitement for MovNat has remained and our passion for sharing Erwan’s teachings has grown. In August 2012, Adam and I were able to take part in the Boston Certification.
MovNat is about being efficient, adaptive, and mindful: three elements that are essential in developing movement. What I truly enjoy about MovNat is just that – it’s not just training for training’s sake - it branches out much further. MovNat can be the foundation for all exercise programs, athletic activities, and daily routines, because it focuses on the foundation of movement.
MovNat has helped me become more efficient in running marathons, CrossFit workouts, strength and conditioning, MovNat combo training, playing with my niece and nephew, and being mindful of others throughout my day. Basically, whenever I’m moving, the foundation of movement skills that I learned through MovNat are at work.
I believe Erwan has been able to develop teaching methods that help individuals make life changes.
There were a lot of high expectations going into the Boston Certification. The experience that we received in West Virginia in 2009 kept coming back to me, and I wondered if the Boston Certification would even compare to the training and experiences we shared there.
The certification not only met my expectations, it far surpassed them.
Having the opportunity to train with Erwan in 2009 was amazing, and it was disappointing not to have that same instructional training and character that only he can provide. However, our Certification Trainers for Boston, Kellen and Brian, were phenomenal. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and well educated in all areas of fitness. It was unbelievable how you could see Erwan’s instruction reflected in both of these trainers, and how well they coached us.
I have received other certifications, but I have never attended a certification or seminar that provides this level of coaching and professionalism. MovNat is at a higher level than any other.
The other great thing about Boston was the people. It’s pretty comforting to be around individuals who have the same interests and passions and who really have an interest in helping others experience a healthier life. Part of training is learning and speaking with others, and there was a great amount of knowledge shared among the trainees.
MovNat has helped me with my mission to help others, and I will continue to use it as the foundation program for my clients.
Adam and I share our passion for fitness and nutrition with others and will continue to help build the MovNat community. Encourage Others Daily!
